Welcome to the wonderful world of Pokémon!
In the small location called Littleroot Town, characters will wake up and find themselves anywhere within the area. Of course, there'd be some waking up on the cold ground, that's usual, but some others might find themselves up in a tree or even on the rooftop of a building. If they're really unlucky, they might find themselves inside some poor chap's house, which would lead to screaming and being chased out with a broom, but ah, what can you do?
No matter where they wake up, every character will find themselves in this quiet town. It might be more like a village though, with only a handful of houses and buildings. It's certainly smaller than any major city, and it's surrounded by a strangely dense forest. The people here don't seem to question all the new arrivals, and would much rather talk about something called "Pokémon", whatever those are. At the very least, the citizens here don't seem threatening and outright rude, but not including the poor people who just had an apparent theft appear in their homes. It also seems like that there is some sort of little celebration similar to Halloween going on here, with the carved pumpkins lining by the buildings, fake cobwebs hanging around, and other similar decorations. Kids run around in costumes, even if it's during the day, and with some great music playing in the background, this looks to be a peaceful town overall.
Asides from the little monsters running around.
A purple rat, an owl with one leg, a living pumpkin, and a spiky raccoon, these creatures seem to be everywhere and none of the inhabitants of Littleroot Town appear to mind. Some of them are even accompanied by one, or summon them from little red and white balls. When characters search their new belongings, they will find the five of the small little balls. One of these balls, however, will shake around and have its centre light blinking red. Upon pressing the button, it suddenly grows from the size of a little ping-pong ball to a baseball. Characters don't get much time to marvel or question this strange technology though, as the device will suddenly open up and summon the character's very own monster! Whether this creature is friendly or not, it's all dependant on each one's personality, but do try to get along.
From that point on, this "Pokémon" will follow its owner (or "trainer") everywhere it goes, and may start try and nudge it towards the exit of the town. "Route 101", the little sign by the path says, pointing out into the wilderness.
What awaits characters out there, and will it be safe to venture forth?
There's only one way to find out! |
